Mr. Cool

Daddy is in Las Vegas for a month. This is the pic his buddy emailed me today of Will on his rented bike. He worked hard all week as a student and scored a 100% on his first test. I have a feeling he will get Distinguished Graduate at the end of this course. Go Daddy! I get to fly out there next weekend for a little getaway while Brock stays with my mom and Will's mom. I am so excited! It will be such fun for us!

Will left last Sunday and I boo hooed the whole way home. It is so hard on us when he is gone. It isn't that I can't handle the duties that parenthood brings, it is the missing him that kills me. Well, I say that and of course we have a doozie of a week this week. ha! Wednesday I noticed that Brock woke up w/ really rosy cheeks. He later started to seem fussy and warm. I took his temp and it turned out that he had a low grade fever. This is the first time for us so I got worried. I called the doc and they figured that it was due to teething. So, I gave him Tylenol and he actually slept great that night. When he woke up Thursday he still seemed warm, and his fever was 102.6, I was freaked. You could just tell he felt awful too, all he wanted was for me to hold him. We went to the doc that morning and I was so scared it was his ears, but thankfully it wasn't. She said he had a throat infection, not strep, but it was infected and that was what was causing the fever. She put him on antibiotics for 5 days.(Unsure of my pediatrician is a whole other story). He had a yucky afternoon that day and even threw up his dinner due to the medicine...ugh. Then he had such a rough night sleeping, and I even tried with him in bed with me. It was awful, and just awful to see him that way. :( Friday morning seemed so much better. His fever was lower and he was finally in good spirits again. It was so nice to have him back to his regular self! After two great naps and great night of sleep, he is much much better today.

On a lighter note, Brock is crawling all around and it is too funny to watch him. He is interested in all the things I wish that he wasn't. haha.
