9 weeks old
This was taken Thursday morning while he was playing on his play mat. We usually get up, change diaper, eat, and then have some play time before his morning nap. He is doing much better with his day time naps too. After I see the first yawn, I rush him back to his crib. We turn the mobile on and I usually read 1-3 books while he zones out. He usually will start fussing just a bit so I give him his pacifier and he falls asleep by the time I make it back into the living room. I am so glad that he is learning to fall asleep on his own. Will and I had been rocking him to sleep and we both new that was a habit we needed to break before he grew to depend on it. He even has been falling asleep on his own at night too. I feed him, and then we take turns changing his diaper, a quick lotion massage, a story, and some cuddling. We then swaddle him and lay him down in his crib. He grunts for a few minutes and then falls asleep. We figured out that he likes it dark and quiet when he sleeps at night. We are finally starting to establish some type of routine and it feels great! The last two nights he slept for almost five hours during his long stretch. He is adding a little more time every night, and that is so exciting to us....especially me since I have to get up with him. I have been doing well with having him sleep in the crib, and I think we are all sleeping better because of it.
